Throughout my professional career, I have come to realize that mental and emotional work must go hand in hand with technical training to confront fears, learn from them, and unlock one’s maximum potential both on and off the court.
From a young age, I was deeply connected to tennis, as my family owned a club that was a pioneer of the sport in the Balearic Islands. My life has revolved around tennis, and I gradually progressed as a player, beginning to stand out. My determination to become a professional tennis player led me to explore opportunities beyond Mallorca. At the age of 10, I joined the Balearic Tennis Federation team under the guidance of coaches like Alberto Tous and Jofre Porta, where I achieved championships in the Balearics and reached finals in the Spanish Championship. My progression prompted me to move to Barcelona at 13, where I made my first leap into professional tennis at 16, starting with ITF tournaments.
This journey was marked by a significant turning point in my life—the loss of a very important person who introduced me to the sport when I was just two years old. At 20, I enrolled in the Sánchez Casal Tennis Academy, where I reached my highest rankings of 130 in WTA singles and 70 in doubles.
Throughout my athletic career, I experienced numerous ups and downs due to internal fears and insecurities, which led to various injuries. Ultimately, I concluded my professional playing career at the end of the 2006 season and transitioned into coaching. During this period, I recognized that success in tennis requires not only physical training but also addressing the mental and emotional challenges. Confronting these fears has allowed me to unlock my full potential, leading to significant achievements, including becoming Senior World Champion and subsequently ranked #1 in the world in that category.
Today, I am passionate about sharing my insights with students, helping them understand the connection between tennis and life in general.
